How to Appear Offline In Oculus Quest 2?
With Oculus Quest 2, you can enjoy a bunch of games without an internet connection by setting it up offline.
If you want to set it up manually, follow these steps. You can do this on your phone or on your PC. The instructions below are for the PC app.
- From the PC, open “The Oculus app”
- Log in to your current account
- Click on “Home”
- Go to the “Friends” section at the bottom left and you will see your profile there
- Next, click on the avatar in your profile
- Then click the three dots at the top right of the screen.
- You can choose to appear offline at step 7
When you do this, you will see the green dot in your profile avatar vanish. This indicates your Oculus Quest 2 has gone offline or your Meta Quest is disconnected from WiFi.
Things you must do before going offline on quest 2
Just like a new phone or laptop, you need to complete the initial setup process and download some amazing offline games from Meta Store and Steam.

Can I Play Oculus Quest Games in Airplane Mode?
Oculus Headset cannot go “full” aeroplane mode because your Bluetooth settings can’t be turned off since the headset itself doesn’t have them. Instead, put your phone in Airplane mode (which is connected to your headset).
Airplane mode is not available on Oculus Quest 2 as the headset doesn’t have any sim card. The thing airplane mode refers to offline mode and it means you’ve turned off your internet connection.
So, as there is no airplane mode you can play quest games while being offline.
Is there a way to go offline on Oculus?
The way to go offline simply means the WiFi mode has been turned off.
Follow the steps to go offline on Oculus Quest 2:
- Under the settings tab of the menu bar, select Wi-Fi.
- To turn off your Wi-Fi, press the On and Off switch under “Wi-Fi.”
- Alternatively, you can select See All under the settings tab.

If you’re a very poor quality internet service, you’ll feel lag while gaming. I suggest changing the internet provider as soon as possible and upgrading to a better internet provider.
